Auction Online Listing
You have decided what your going to sell in your online auction, and
you are ready to get started with your auction listing, but there are a
few things your not sure about . Here are a few suggestions to help get
you started.
First, before you post your item, you should do some research. View
completed listings paying special attention to there descriptions, how
much the item sold for, and in some cases why they didn't sell.
Select an opening bid. This will depend on your item being auctioned.
Most of the time the best opening bid is a low one, this encourages
others to place bids. Take in consideration though that you will be
paying insertion fees with auction online listings.
Writing a title and description. Your auction title should contain
keywords people use to look for your item. Generally you may want to
focus on the two main keywords of your item and combine them into a
keyword phrase. Your auction description should contain the products
information in as much detail you can provide. Things to include in your
description would be measurements, age of the product, name brand, and
the items current condition.
Auction Time Frame. Decide the duration you would like your auction
online listing to run. Typically most auctions run 7 to 10 days, the
reason for this has to do with the longer an auction is listed the more
bids it usually gets. Another great tip is ending your auction on Sunday
when bidding is at the highest.
Using pictures in your listing. I have found that most important aspect
of your auction listing is with using pictures. An auction listing
without pictures generally will not receive as much attention as a
listing with pictures. Photograph your items against a solid colored
back drop. Get as close up as possible, including different angles of
the item ( front ,back, bottom, top).
